A benefit dinner and program for an outstanding after school program called PEACE OF THE CITY will be held on Thursday, June 2nd, at Buffalo State, doors opening at 5:15 PM. The dinner begins at 6:00 and concludes at 7:30 PM. The program is entitled Peace of the City's Night of Courage.
Peace of the City has been a place of stability and refuge for young people on Buffalo's West Side for 30 years. Beyond providing strong academic support and community building practices, they also involve interested students in drama (adapted Shakespearean plays) and mentoring in small business practices. They have been a lifeline for many children and youth on the West and East Sides of Buffalo.
While there is no cost to attend, and parking is free, it is indeed a fundraiser! You may call Steve and Ruth Strand (716-640-2238) if you would like more information, or you may register on the link above. Reservations are due this Thursday, May 26. We believe in what P.O.T.C. offers to the community, so thanks for your consideration.
Best wishes,
Steve Strand
